I have visited Cape Town myself so can advise on the best area to stay and what to do in and around the city.

South Africa v England 2nd Test – Newlands / Cape town

Tour Dates: 2nd – 8th January 2020

Newlands in Cape Town is one of the most scenic and iconic cricket grounds in world cricket, rated 2nd only to historic Lords Cricket Ground by ‘The Cricketer’ magazine. This is the 2nd Test Match of the series, and always the most popular of the tour, so book early!

This package includes shaded seated match tickets for all 5 days, and transfers each day. Please ask us to quote for flights, or you can just take the ground package. There is also an option for a shared hospitality package – please ask us for details.


Day 1: 2nd January
On arrival into Cape Town International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel for your 6-night stay. Enjoy the attractions of one of the world’s most spectacular cities, including Table Mountain; the V&A Waterfront; Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens; the Cape of Good Hope; Robben Island, and many more. Just a 45-minute drive from Cape Town and you’re in the scenic mountains and valleys of the Winelands.

Day 2: 3rd January
This morning you will be collected from your hotel, arriving at the ground in plenty of time for the start of this iconic test match. You will be in shaded Grandstand seats. There is also the option of being in the shared hospitality section of the main Grandstand, and the package includes lunch & drinks for days 1-4 (Day 5 on a cash basis) – supplement £650 per person.

Day 3-6: 4th – 7th January
Spend the following few days enjoying the Test Match! If the Test Match only goes for 4 days, you will be provided with a complimentary sightseeing tour pass which will allow you to explore the mother city.

Day 7: 8th January
You will be collected from your hotel and transferred to Cape Town International Airport for your onward/return flight(s) & arrangements.
