Itinerary 

Day 1: 3rd November 2018
Depart London on your Emirates flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka in economy class.

Day 2: 4th November 2018
Arrive in Colombo (via Dubai). Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon for 7 nights on a bed & breakfast basis. Your evening is at leisure.

Day 3: 5th November 2018
Enjoy a relaxing morning in Galle. This afternoon you will visit the Old Dutch Fort, a ‘living’ UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the Portuguese first landed in Sri Lanka in 1505. The city has many well preserved old Dutch houses, churches and monuments and still retains the air of old Holland. This evening you will be invited to a drinks reception with your host and fellow guests.

Day 4: 6th November 2018

Day 5: 7th November 2018
Sri Lanka v England 2018 – First Test, Day 2. Galle International Cricket Stadium. Roundtrip stadium transfers are included. Today’s cricket action will be followed by our popular State of Play evening, for an entertaining and informal review of the day’s play. Spend a relaxing evening in the company of your host, where previously the likes of John Lever, Michael Vaughan, Gladstone Small and David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd have been known to offer their expert opinion on the Test Matches.

Day 6: 8th November 2018

Day 9: 11th November 2018
This morning you will begin a scenic transfer to the lush tea country for 2 nights at Grand Hotel, Nuwara Eliya, on a half board basis. The rest of the day is yours to explore this beautiful region of Sri Lanka.

Day 10: 12th November 2018 
Today you will visit a tea plantation and be taken on a tour through the factory where some of the best tea in the world is produced. You will gain first-hand experience on the manufacture of the world-famous pure Ceylon tea.

Day 11: 13th November 2018
This morning you will be transferred to Kandy, the hill country capital, for 6 nights at the stunning OZO hotel on a half board basis. Your evening is at leisure. For those who wish to explore the fascinating history of Kandy, we can arrange an excursion to the sacred Temple of the Tooth that houses Sri Lanka’s all-important Buddhist relic – a tooth of the Buddha. Day 12: 14th November 2018

Day 13: 15th November 2018

Day 14: 16th November 2018

Day 17: 19th November 2018
This morning you will journey to the island’s Cultural Triangle; an area of historical and religious interest, with several World Heritage listed sites including the medieval city of Polonnaruwa, the famous cave temples of Dambulla and the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, amongst other world-famous attractions. You will transfer to Heritance Kandalama for 3 nights on a half board basis. Your evening is at leisure

Day 18: 20th November 2018
Today is free for you to explore the stunning resort of Heritance Kandalama, which is surrounded by rich wildlife, verdant jungle, calm waters and rocky mountains. Alternatively, we suggest the optional tour of Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital of Sri Lanka and the city known to have been the pinnacle of the country’s Golden Age. (Optional excursion charge applies.)

Day 19: 21st November 2018
Today is a further day at leisure; we suggest the following optional excursions: Visit the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Sri Lanka’s most recognisable attraction. Your tour includes lunch and beverages. (Optional excursion charge applies.) An afternoon visit to Minneriya National Park is also available. The park is a mix of evergreen forest and scrub areas, home to grazing elephants and sambar deer and the location of the ancient Minneriya Tank reservoir. (Optional excursion charge applies.) This evening you are invited to join your host and fellow guests for a pre-dinner drinks reception.

Day 20: 22nd November 2018
This morning you will transfer to Colombo for 7 nights’ accommodation at Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. Spend the rest of the day at leisure in Colombo, a city that combines old world charm with modern skyscrapers. Explore the city’s ancient buildings and temples and visit local gastronomic restaurants.

Day 21: 23rd November 2018 
Sri Lanka v England – Third Test, Day 1 SSC Stadium, Colombo- Roundtrip stadium transfers are included.

Day 22: 24th November 2018
Sri Lanka v England – Third Test, Day 2 – SSC Stadium, Colombo- Roundtrip stadium transfers are included. Today’s cricket action will be followed by another fun and informal State of Play function, with special guests.

Day 23: 25th November 2018 
Sri Lanka v England – Third Test, Day 3- SSC Stadium, Colombo – Roundtrip stadium transfers are included.

Day 24: 26th November 2018
Sri Lanka v England – Third Test, Day 4- SSC Stadium, Colombo- Roundtrip stadium transfers are included.

Day 26: 28th November 2018
This morning you will be taken on a city tour of Colombo. The tour will include many wonderful sights including temples, mosques and a colourful Oriental bazaar. You will then be invited to enjoy a special Farewell Dinner with your host and fellow guests at 8 Degrees on the Lake, a breathtaking experience on board Colombo’s only floating venue. A live band will entertain as you toast a wonderful tour of Sri Lanka!

Day 27: 29th November 2018
This morning you will be met at your hotel and transferred to Colombo Airport for your flight back to London with Emirates in economy class. Arrangements conclude.

Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo
Like many capital cities in developing countries Colombo is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood, yet in other parts the old world charm is retained. A 100-year-old clock tower and several British-built colonial buildings are still to be seen in the city. The Pettah bazaar is a where one can shop for bargains, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent and the Colombo museum are some of the places of interest.
